FUN-DRAISING

We have a Trivia night last meeting.. It was to raise funds for a local charity – but also to have some fun while doing it… We managed to raise about $1,000 – not bad for such a small Lodge…

Anyone else have suggestions for Twenty-First Century Activities in the South?

They don’t have to be fundraisers – we have done things like movie nights and gone to the pub– these have been good… but I am starting a collection of ideas as I move towards the Chair and to help our current and future Masters run a good show..

(Oh – “The South” is our “Festive Board” or social after the Lodge is closed.. We sometimes invite partners – but not always..)

I don't know. I soured on trying to do fun things with Masons as a group when one of my good friends and recomender suggested in lodge that anybody who wanted to have a good time and hang out could meet him over at the Downs an off track horse betting place for beer, wings and cigars. There were three of us and his girlfriend there.

I think that may have been the first moment we thought "gee we need to get the hell out of this lodge and make a new one"

That happens to me sometimes - but as a small group we always have a blast ! (and sometimes a nasty hangover :)

Did you have fun ? And are the people you went with members of Kite and Key ?
