Not sure - but I have heard the figure 18,000 a few times for the entire state.

United Grand Lodge of Victoria is in Melbourne and covers the whole state of Victoria. UGLV has no Distinct GLs
Do you know approximately how many temples in your city ?
55 in the City of Melbourne.
Do you know how many lodges there are in your city ?
Not Sure.. but I might take a stab at a 150 Craft Lodges..
How many lodges are you a member of ?
One. My mother lodge.
How many lodges do you regularly attend ?
Two. I am acting IG in another Lodge..
How big would you say your average lodge is ?
Most have less than 30 members. There is only one or two that have over 100 members.
Is there many young masons in your city, or is it an old blokes pursuit ?
Mainly Old. Our average age in 2007 was 67 years old. But the average age in our lodge is about 35 ...

I'm Junior Past Master in my lodge and currently Chaplain and Trustee.
In what STATE do you live ?
New York State, at the far Western end.

As I said far western end of NY state. About 2 hours south of Niagara Falls.
What is the approximate population of your city ?
I'm not sure? The city I moved form recently was about 14,000 though and I know live in a town just outside of it.
Do you know how many Freemasons there are in your city ?
Our lodge has about 190

No. We work under a charter provided by the Grand Lodge of New York.
Do you know approximately how many temples in your city ?
One lodge in our town. 6 lodges and dwindling in our county.

Just one so far.

Jsut one but I visit a few others from time to time. Mostly in my district (county) but one or two outside my district as well.
How big would you say your average lodge is ?
I'm not sure of the state statistics. In our district we are the largest (thru mergers). Average in our district is about 100 or less. We bring up that average thoguh.
Is there many young masons in your city, or is it an old blokes pursuit ? Currently we have about 20 to 30 that are under 50. Of those there are only about 6 that are active (me being one of them).

No. Work under the Grand Lodge of Kansas

I think the average number of members is around 100, but most in this city have either much more or much fewer. Our lodge has 341 members and one a couple miles away has only 5.

I am told that in the average age of a mason in our city is around 50-55. In our lodge, the average is probably the same for all our members, but around 45 for active members. -

One normally. As DDGM I travel my District (6 Lodges total), and I visit Lodges near my home in PA (about 3)

We are bringing up the numbers in our Lodge. Younger men are joining and remaining active. The majority remain 65 or older.
