While we are talking about “co-masonry” at freemasons.tribe.net/thread/...dd62dafe I thought of the..
“Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons"
“The Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons (HFAF) is a fraternity for women and organised by women. It was founded in 1913 and membership is open to women of any race or religion, who are able to profess a belief in a Supreme Being. Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest secular fraternal societies. It is concerned with moral and spiritual values. Its members are taught its precepts by a series of ceremonies. Our Order has many Lodges throughout England and the Isle of Man, stretching from as far north as Carlisle and south to Lewes and Bournemouth and westwards in the Cotswolds. We also now have a Lodge in Gibraltar and two in Spain"

Re: Freemasonry - No Blokes Allowed !
Wed, April 9, 2008 - 5:43 AMHow does that work? Do their three principle officers represent the Queen of Sheba; Henrietta, Queen of Tyre; and the Widow of the tribe of Naphtali? -

Re: Freemasonry - No Blokes Allowed !
Tue, April 15, 2008 - 7:42 PMSome of the brothers at my Lodge went to England over a decade ago to perform the MM degree as we perform it here. The Brittish were aparently concerned that we were way too hands on. I enjoyed my MM degree and am quite happy it went exactly as it did.
From what I'm told PA has more in common with Brittish ritual than with the work done in most US grand lodges but I've never been there to find out. -

Re: Freemasonry - No Blokes Allowed !
Thu, August 14, 2008 - 5:35 AMI found this by accident but I must reply even though it is some months since this was posted! I am Christine Chapman of the HFAF and I have been a freemason for 32 years. Our fraternity uses Universal ritual and although you may find it strange that we call ourselves Brother and not Sister, it was a decision that was taken in the early days because it was felt that Brother was a universal form of masonic address. There are two all women fraternities in the UK and 3 co-masonic movements.

What is HFAF?
I assume you are in one of the all women lodges?
Can you give us some history of your lodge and masonic practices? -

Re: Freemasonry - No Blokes Allowed !
Tue, August 19, 2008 - 5:27 AMHFAF stands for the Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons and you can find our history on www.hfaf.org. But briefly we started in 1913. There are two all-women's Grand Lodges in the UK both of which orignally were co-masonic as men were able to belong to both UGLE lodges and these lodges but when UGLE decided that these male brethren could no longer have this dual membership it was agreed to limit all future membership to women only.
Our masonic practices are very similar to UGLE lodges.

In some instances - I hear very much identical...

Re: Freemasonry - No Blokes Allowed !
Fri, August 22, 2008 - 3:18 PMI'm sorry but this is just plain not Masonry as it was intended...
Thank goodness I can still hold true to at least one part of the 3rd Degree Obligation from the Grand Lodge of California. -

Re: Freemasonry - No Blokes Allowed !
Fri, August 22, 2008 - 9:13 PMHi Ariston !
I always find it funny that we bang on about tolerance and acceptance.. but seem to forget that when we speak on clandestine orders and such.
I would (could) not sit in a lodge with them - but does not mean I cannot wish them well in their pursuits and have such men (and woman) as friends.. -
-
Re: Freemasonry - No Blokes Allowed !
Sun, August 31, 2008 - 1:14 PMI know I can't be present at, help aide or assist in making a woman a mason but I think I can talk to one. Perhaps not visit but still I think I can meet one. The day Masonry tried to over ride my constitutional rights to free speach and free assmbly then I will have a problem.
Thanks for the website.
